Coffee bags are used as packaging bags for coffee beans and coffee powder. Among many commodities, customers not only pay attention to the brand awareness of coffee itself, but also the packaging design of coffee bags is also a very important factor affecting their purchases. More importantly, how can customers buy high-quality coffee without opening the package? It’s very simple, that is to see if there is a one-way exhaust valve installed on the coffee bag!

  1. Since the roasted coffee beans will produce carbon dioxide, this air valve can discharge the carbon dioxide into the bag, and it can also block the oxygen outside the bag from entering the bag to prevent the beans from being oxidized, thus ensuring the fresh quality of the coffee and eliminating the Risk of resulting coffee bag swelling or bursting.
  2. In addition, the air valve is installed on the coffee bag, and the customer can directly squeeze the bag when purchasing, and the aroma of the coffee will come out directly from the bag so that the customer can smell its aroma, so that the customer can better confirm the freshness of the coffee (quality).

Therefore, it is very important to install a one-way exhaust valve on the coffee bag. To be more precise: there must be a plastic one-way exhaust valve on the professional coffee bag!

What kind of gas does the one-way exhaust valve exhaust? Why exhaust?

Green coffee beans contain acids, proteins, esters, carbohydrates, water and caffeine. After coffee beans are roasted at high temperature, a series of chemical reactions such as Maillard reaction will produce carbon dioxide. Generally speaking, carbon dioxide and other volatile gases after roasting account for 2% by weight of the whole coffee bean. The 2% gas will be slowly released from the fiber structure of the bean, and the release time will be related to the roasting method. Just because the coffee beans themselves volatilize carbon dioxide, we will see that the roasted coffee beans are packed in a sealed bag and it will swell over time.

So, is carbon dioxide good or bad for coffee beans?

The answer is cons. If the coffee beans are packed in a sealed bag, there is no channel to release the gas, and the expansion continues, once the coffee beans are in this state for a long time, the carbon dioxide molecules accumulated in the bag will form oxides with the surface of the coffee beans, it directly affects the freshness of coffee beans.

How to isolate the air while the one-way exhaust valve exhausts air?

Check valves are different from ordinary air valves. If an ordinary air valve is used, while the air in the packaging bag is discharged, the air outside the packaging belt will also be allowed to flow into the bag, which will destroy the sealing of the packaging bag and continue to oxidize the coffee. Oxidation of coffee beans will cause the aroma to volatilize and the ingredients to deteriorate. The one-way exhaust valve is not like this. The coffee beans release carbon dioxide in the packaging bag equipped with a one-way air valve. Gas; until the air pressure drops below the threshold of the one-way valve. The valve of one-way valve is closed, and packaging bag returns to sealed state.

The coffee bean packaging bag with one-way degassing valve is not just a kind of plastic packaging, it plays a very important role, and its existence directly affects the flavor of coffee beans. The one-way valve retains a lot of coffee flavor, and also witnesses the coffee people’s pursuit of freshly roasted coffee.
